Merry Christmas!

We hope you and yours have had a wonderful Christmas holiday!  Here are a few glimpses from ours: Celebrating the birth of our Savior together as Imago Dei family at the chapel of SEBTS... Jesus, God with us. O come, O come, Emmanuel And ransom captive Israel That mourns in lonely exile here Until the Son of God appear Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel. O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free Thine own from Satan's tyranny From depths of Hell Thy people save And give them victory o'er the grave Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel. O come, Thou Day-Spring, come and cheer Our spirits by Thine advent here Disperse the gloomy clouds of night And death's dark shadows put to flight. Rejoice! Rejoice! ADVOCATE: [v. ad-vuh-keyt OR n. ad-vuh-kit, -keyt]

AN ADVOCATE IS SOMEONE WHO : refuses to stand by. : speaks up when something is wrong. : uses their voice on behalf of people living in slavery and violent oppression today. AN ADVOCATE IS SOMEONE LIKE YOU   noun : a person who argues for or supports a cause or policy : a person who works for a cause or group : a person who argues for the cause of another person in a court of law verb : to support or argue for (a cause, policy, etc.) Advocacy  is about shifting the balance of power. [Visit: www.freedomcommons.ijm.org ]   Since 2010, I have had multiple opportunities to join other modern day abolitionists on Capital Hill to speak up on behalf of the vulnerable, the poor and the oppressed, specifically regarding the issue of modern day slavery and violent oppression that effects the global poor.  These past couple days were yet another opportunity to not only be encouraged by the persistence and dedication of hundreds across our nation, but to hear
