End of May

It is hard to believe that June starts tomorrow... where has May gone?!.  As I look back over the blur of May and look forward to what is ahead in June and July, I kind of want to cry.  There are a lot of things already pencilled in on the calendar.  Many fun things like visiting with family, summer camps and such, yet that first word of this sentence is what may make the summer move too quickly.  Meanwhile, here is a semi-out-of-order glance at the past several days beginning with a random picture of something you (or at least I) don't see everyday... urban cowboys, it appears, riding horses from a gas station down a highway....
We were headed, when we caught that sight, on our way to an IDC elder retreat in the Outer Banks. A timely get away and such a blessing.  Here is a view of the Currituck Sound from our bedroom.  Beautiful and quite peaceful.
Donnie and Meghan made a nice breakfast spread for us in the mornings... definitely one of their love languages... we were all grateful recipients....
In the OBX you can watch both the sunrise (over the ocean) and the sunset (over the Sound).... our crew caught the sunsets, ha...
We enjoyed some amazing seafood and shared many laughs...
and dance moves... ha

Meanwhile, back at home: 4/5's of my kiddos enjoying a snack with Ms. Elisabeth... James stayed with another family to help divide and conquer (ha)... He, in his head, was living the high life.  He loves him some "Mr. Chips"...
I love the beach.  It is definitely a great place to retreat.  The guys put their chairs in a circle and had meetings with the sound of waves crashing in the background.

On our way home from OBX, I received a phone call that while playing football at recess one student's tooth found its way to the side of Joshua's scalp.  He was fine but oh how he milked it, ha...

 Love these people...
 So grateful for them...
ALSO, my niece was born on Memorial Day = Lenora Naomi, 8lbs 14oz and 21in long!  Beautiful!
My little sis, Amanda, with my bro-n-law, Josh, and baby Lenora = Precious!  We can't wait to meet her!
These pictures for some reason uploaded in random order...

 The new NIECE :=)
What we packed for lunch on the beach - are you kidding me?!.  SO good!

Remember that old En Vogue song, "Back to Life, Back to Reality"?  Well, it's stuck in my head...
Back to baseball games and band concerts...

Kind of like being at the beach... sort of... not.
Meanwhile, yearbooks have arrived.  I snapped this adorable picture of a picture of Angela and her friends.  Precious.
Dad continues to snap and send adorable pictures of his newest grandchild.  Wish I could reach through the phone and hug this cuteness!
 Band concerts...

and baseball... Livin' the life... Grateful for God's grace and goodness to us!
Happy End of May to you!  Bring on the summer!
