Spring Break - Part 1

On Saturday evening, March 29th, we received the news that a much beloved family member had lost the battle against the ravenous cancer that had invaded her body.  On Sunday, we made preparations and headed to Kentucky the next morning...

"For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come." Hebrews 13:14

"Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning." Psalm 30:5
We have hope...

What a reunion we have to look forward to!

"Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man.  He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.  He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, height shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." Revelation 21:3b-4

 Aunt Hazel's favorite song...

Child Of The King Lyrics

Once I was clothed in the rags of my sin,
Wretched and poor, lost and lonely within.
But with wondrous compassion, the King of all kings,
In pity and love, took me under His wings.

CHORUS:

Oh, yes, oh yes, I'm a child of the King
His royal blood now flows in my veins.
And I who was wretched and poor now can sing
Praise God, praise God, I'm a child of the King.

Now I'm a child with a Heavenly home,
My Holy Father has made me His own.
And I'm cleansed by His blood, and I'm clothed in His love,
And some day I'll sing with the angels above

As we celebrated the life of Tony's beloved Aunt Hazel, we also enjoyed the wonderful gift of family. That is the upside of funerals: reuniting with family and friends...

As well as enjoying good food together…
(Joshua was showing his count on his hand of how many deviled eggs he'd eaten…)

We enjoyed a little down time before hitting the road again...

 Family is a gift…
"Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning." Psalm 30:5
We rejoice that Aunt Hazel has no more pain, we will see her again...
"But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ - by grace you have been saved - and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.  For by grace you have been saved through faith  And this is not your own doing;; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:4-10
